Social sofa is a Dutch company that makes kits for communities to mosaic outdoor benches. They believe that benches are essential for a community to avoid feeling isolated. As the community mosaic’s the sofa together, new friends are made and the bench can later be enjoyed together.
As the community is involved in the making, this increases the neutrality of the bench. The benches made me think about if we are unable to make the bench with others, what’s the best way to give it to the community to use.
