Review of NYT Article 'What Loss Looks Like'

Dani Blum and Jaspal Riyat wrote an article where they asked readers to share photos of 'objects that remind them if those who died over the last year, whether from coronavirus or other causes'. As most people have been unable to hold funeral services the objects are seen as another way to celebrate a loved one's life. My project is currently looking at objects and why they are significant. This was started by the death of a loved one, which led me to question how much of a person is left behind with their belongings? Maybe life can be preserved through these objects.

I've selected a number of the objects and interviews that stood out to me to comment on:

Engagement Ring

What stood out to me with this one is that Andrea was unable to see her mother throughout her sickness, but the ring was with her mother thought that time. The ring perhaps now comforts her to the fact that she wasn't alone.

Jumper

The sweater was changed from something that cause grief to a comfort.
